Report: RB Salzburg ‘Expect’ Christoph Freund To Stay

It appears that Christoph Freund’s rumored switch from RB Salzburg to Chelsea is not nearly as close as some reports led fans to believe. Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports has obtained a quote from the club regarding these recent reports.

The quote reads as follows: “FC Red Bull Salzburg has never been contacted from Chelsea to talk about any transfer details of Christoph Freund. We expect him to stay”.

Jacobs notes that it is normal for a club to put out such a statement when one of their executives is rumored to be on their way out. This statement could be a form of posturing or it could be a legitimate indicator that Salzburg have no desire to entertain this possibility.

It helps that Freund has reportedly verbally agreed to join the Blues. This may come in handy should the Austrian side

Georgia remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the CBS Sports 131, our comprehensive ranking of every FBS program. While much of the top 10 remains the same after Week 3 results across college football, there is plenty of movement elsewhere as the sport’s landscape begins to take shape heading into the heart of conference play.

Each of the top seven teams from last week’s rankings — Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, USC and Clemson — held their respective positions after wins that affirmed their statuses. But while that top tier of the sport seems to be solidified for the moment, there are a handful of worthy contenders starting to knock at the door of elite status.

Kentucky (No. 8) and Oklahoma State (No. 9) both moved up two spots into the top 10 while improving to 3-0 over the weekend. The wins, both over FCS

What CBS Sports’ Week 1 prediction says about Texans’ offense

The Houston Texans are seven-point underdogs to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. The AFC South showdown inside NRG Stadium on Sunday at 12:00 pm Central Time may be a good chance for the Colts to start 1-0.

According to Pete Prisco from CBS Sportsthe Colts will inaugurate the Matt Ryan era with a win, and he actually expects a close game with Indianapolis prevailing 31-27.

This will be Matt Ryan‘s first game as the Colts quarterback after coming over in a trade. Ryan is still more than capable of lighting things up, which will prove to be a challenge for the Texans defense. They also can pound Jonathan Taylor. Davis Mills looked good for the Texans late last year, which will carry over here. Look for a lot of points in a tight game.

The 31 points from Indianapolis is the precise point
