1. With the NFL preseason coming to an end this past weekend, Monday marked a reset of the football calendar.

Major cuts are coming, rosters will be set and the next game we’ll see will be the regular-season opener between the Bills and Rams on Sept. 8.

So how did the NFL’s top information man get this day started at around 8:30 am ET?

By promoting a company that sells a vile concoction that they call pizza, but isn’t really pizza.

The best part about this is Schefter acted like he was unveiling something that the masses would drool over. The reality is, the NFL insider opened the box to reveal something totally unappetizing.

People were relentless.

NEW YORK — A mint condition Mickey Mantle baseball card sold for $12.6 million Sunday, blasting into the record books as the most ever paid for sports memorabilia in a market that has grown exponentially more lucrative in recent years.

The rare Mantle card eclipsed the record just posted a few months ago — $9.3 million for the jersey worn by Diego Maradona when he scored the contentious “Hand of God” goal in soccer’s 1986 World Cup.

South Carolina partners with sports marketing agency to become first major college program with in-house NIL firm

South Carolina is becoming the first major college athletic department to partner with a sports marketing agency to establish an in-house name, image and likeness firm, where Gamecocks athletes will have free access to deal facilitation, content generation and branding services.

The school has hired Everett Sports Management (ESM) to launch Park Ave, an exclusive initiative that will provide NIL services for Gamecocks athletes. South Carolina’s board of trustees on Tuesday afternoon approved the two-year, $2.2 million contract. Everett Sports Management, based in Greenville, SC, represents NFL players such as Jalen Hurts, Mac Jones and Jonathan Taylor, and handles NIL marketing for several college athletes, including Miami basketball players and social media stars Haley and Hanna Cavinder, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett and Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall.
