Longtime United States women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe had a special, private request for president Joe Biden earlier this summer.

Rapinoe reportedly requested that Biden make more of an effort bringing Brittney Griner home.

Griner, the WNBA star, has been in custody in Russia since earlier this year. Griner was reportedly found with hash oil in a vape pen in her backpack at the airport. She’s been sentenced to nine years in prison.

Tyson Fury reaffirms his retirement from boxing with social media post on his birthday | Boxing News

Tyson Fury has reaffirmed his retirement from boxing in a statement on his social media accounts, saying “bon voyage” to the sport on his 34th birthday.

Fury announced he was retiring from the sport after his win over Dillian Whyte to retain his WBC title at London’s Wembley Stadium in April.

Gator Great Shane Matthews Joins Gators Sports Network as Football Analyst

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gator Great Shane Matthews has joined the Florida football radio team as the full-time analyst, the University Athletic Association and Florida Gators Sports Properties announced Thursday.

Matthews provided color commentary at road games last season. Matthews and newly hired ‘Voice of the Gators’ Sean Kelley will be in their first season in the booth this fall, debuting on Sept. 3 when Florida hosts Utah in the season opener at 7 pm


“It’s a tremendous honor,” Matthews said. “I have big shoes to fill with Lee McGriff. He and Mick Hubert had great chemistry, but I’m excited for the new opportunity that I have with Sean Kelley and new era of Gators football.”
