Megan Rapinoe Had Brittney Griner Request: Sports World Reacts

Longtime United States women’s soccer star Megan Rapinoe had a special, private request for president Joe Biden earlier this summer.

Rapinoe reportedly requested that Biden make more of an effort bringing Brittney Griner home.

Griner, the WNBA star, has been in custody in Russia since earlier this year. Griner was reportedly found with hash oil in a vape pen in her backpack at the airport. She’s been sentenced to nine years in prison.

Tyson Fury reaffirms his retirement from boxing with social media post on his birthday | Boxing News

Tyson Fury has reaffirmed his retirement from boxing in a statement on his social media accounts, saying “bon voyage” to the sport on his 34th birthday.

Fury announced he was retiring from the sport after his win over Dillian Whyte to retain his WBC title at London’s Wembley Stadium in April.

But in June ‘The Gypsy King’ announced he would “100 per cent” return to the ring, although he stressed “big pockets” would be required for a potential unification bout against Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk.

Just two days ago Fury announced a return to the ring with his sights set on a third bout with Derek Chisora.

Sooners to CFP in CBS Sports bowl projections

The Oklahoma Sooners haven’t made the College Football Playoffs since 2019, but that could change if projections from CBS Sports come to fruition.
